Recycled Decorative Iron Work
Product Information Our area is rich in decorative iron work in the form of railing, gates, fences, grates, door pulls and other architectural gems. Much of it is from the late 1880. Some of it goes back even to colonial times. Unfortunately, there have been too many incidents where when mis-guided "improvements" have stripped buildings, especially residences, of this beautiful exuberance. In too many cases, especially for decades in the mid-20th Century, entire buildings, such as the precious brownstones, were covered in cheap fake brick or similar poor quality, short-lived junk. But we at All Ironworks, have been agressive in saving as many examples of this old decorative iron work as we can. We have salvaged it from scrap yards and bought it from demolition sites. We do not sell this rare inventory. We use it as inspiration to recreate lost ironwork. So if your project needs to restore lost decorative iron work that is appropriate to the period of the building you are restoring, visit us and we'll show you what we have that can be replicated to fit your building.
