Cast Iron Recreation
Product Information The posts and railings are cast iron. The gate itself is wrought iron. What you cannot see in the "before" picture is that after more than 100 years, the metal in the posts has so severely rusted that they are unsound and must be replaced for safety. We carefully removed the fragile originals to our shop, took meticulous measurements, made professional blueprints and then recreated these little masterpieces, with dozens of decorative details, in modern, anti-rust steel. Our craftsman cleverly reproduced the smooth edges and joints that characterize cast iron. They are now ready for installation at the original site. They will perfectly match the originals, line up exactly with the existing sound iron and will be fixed into the original fittings and bolts. Click on the above link (+ More Images).
